Judy Cardinale
I grew up in Santa Monica in Southern California where I lived until moving to Lake County. I have an AA in Business Administration with a minor in Art and English.
During my child rearing years I rendered my works in charcoal and pastels, as this lent itself better to a busy mother’s schedule. Most of my early works consisted of wildlife and animal portraits.
I have studied art for 35 years and upon relocating to Lake County in the early 90's, I began to explore the medium of oil. Under the direction of Wayne Coats at Yuba College I added another love to the already existing love of animal portraits that of seascapes. Many of my seascapes and animal portraits grace the walls of homes in private collections throughout the United States.
Most of my recent work is inspired by the ever-changing landscape of farms, water, wildlife, and beautiful sunsets depicted in Lake County. Influenced by the scenes that portray Lake County, my paintings reflect soft serene landscapes. During my sojourns in Lake County with my sketch book and camera in hand, I am forever ready to capture that "special moment Our Maker has bestowed."
My work is featured in private offices, restaurant’s and various companies in Lake County, and Sandi’s Interior Design in Lakeport. I have also been featured at Mendocino College and the Main Street Gallery in Lakeport. I have a small art gallery at 2190 South Main Street in Lakeport where I feature my latest oil and watercolor pieces. I extend an open invitation to any wishing to see more of my work to drop in anytime between 9:00 and 5:00 Monday through Saturday.
