The Rat by Sue Lehman

Clearlake, CA. Wild About Books welcomes mystery author Sue Lehman to talk about her new book The Rat on Saturday, March 22nd, 2008 at 2pm, located at 14290 Olympic Drive in the City of Clearlake, next door to Lisa's clothing store. Book signing will follow.

Sue Lehman does it again! A fun mystery even the likes of Agatha Christie would love to chase.

Book description: Ruth was sick and frail, so it was really no surprise when they found her dead one morning. But when that nice young man died, and that little girl, and that nosy Detective Thomlinson started snooping around, it started to look like there might be a problem. In fact, it started to look a lot like murder. You'd better keep your eyes peeled for mischief, just in case, because when there's a rat in the house, it'll keep making a mess until you catch it. The weapon? Rat poison. The murderer? It's anybody's guess.

Red Hat attendees will receive a FREE Gift from Wild About Books.

Blindsided, released January 2007 was Sue Lehman’s first book published. She now resides in northern California and is the owner of Allegro Piano Service, she tunes and repairs pianos. She is currently working on her next book.

All Roads Lead to Zion by William Edmunds

Clearlake, CA. Wild About Books welcomes author William Edmunds to talk about All Roads Lead to Zion by Paracletus Press, on Saturday, April 26th, 2008 at 12-2pm, located at 14290 Olympic Drive in the City of Clearlake, next door to Lisa's clothing store.

A story that provides an intricate picture of the events that surrounded the time preceding and following the day when a young Galilean rabbi was executed from a unique point of view - that of the Roman Commander of Fort Antonio in Jerusalem. “Rome would not have sat on its hands,” Edmunds speculated. “A Roman seal had been broken and the unit charged to guard the tomb upon which it had been placed was compromised. What would Rome have done?” ALL ROADS LEAD TO ZION is his answer to that question.

“RESTORE ORDER AND KEEP THE PEACE...” So read the orders of Emperor Tiberius to a veteran Roman officer assigned to the rebellious nation of Judea. More than 1400 miles from the seat of government, undermanned and under financed, Centurion Gaius Julius Cominus struggles to maintain order. As tens of thousands of Jews gather in Jerusalem for Passover, a madman haunts the roads to Zion bent on the murder and plunder of Roman citizens, while a young rabbi, heralded by many as the Messiah, spurs political intrigue and mutterings of rebellion.

...PEACE IS NOT GOING T0 COME EASY.

William (Bill) Edmunds, a retired police command officer and freelance Christian author has done an extensive study on the Passover Traditions practiced at the time of Christ. Bill and his wife Joan lead the Healing Rooms of Lake County each Thursday evening at the Neighborhood Christian Fellowship in Clearlake and every 1st and 3rd Monday at the New Life Foursquare Church in Lakeport.

Wild About Books welcomes poet and author Clive Matson on Friday, May 9th from 4-6pm for a reading of Chalcedony's First Ten Songs. Clive Matson writes from the itch in his body. Women are his most powerful influence, and Chalcedony (cal-SAID-'n-nee), has written more than eighty songs. Join us as we listen to a gifted poetic in word and spoken form. Book signing to follow.

He returns the next day on May 10th to conduct a "Let the Crazy Child Write" Workshop from 10-5pm, we will learn about the structure of fiction and, indeed, of most writing by looking at these very short stories. Introduction Saturday morning, spontaneous writing and supportive feedback sessions in the familiar synergetic style with a break for potluck lunch. These events are supported by Poets and Writers, Inc. through a grant it has received from the James Irvine Foundation. You can find more information about Clive Matson on line at http://www.matsonpoet.com/biogcm.html.
