Ethermusic

Tones moving in patterns
In cosmic perfection,
Harmonies twining through
Space cloud confections,
Galaxies pulsating on,

On, to infinity,
Gyrating in rhythms
Of exquisite beauty,
Circling black chasms
Of chaos, darkness profound,

Delicate ecstasy,
Majestic harmony,
Powerful drumrolls,
Eternal symphony,
Melodies lingering on,

Through eons, forever,
Entreating, enticing
Appealing, imploring,
Cajoling, coercing,
Compelling in dulcimer tone,

Approaching the depths of
The soul of creation,
While weaving a spell of
Contented affection,
Encircling the spirit within,

Beseeching, “Come join me.
Meander beside me,
Share with me jewels of
All that exists in me.
Observe: we really are one.”

Dusk After Rain

Gentle rain ending, a silky star glimmers,
Glistens in moist, dusky sky.
World being newborn, atmosphere shimmers,
Sheen of fog-clouds whiffles by.

Sphere held in cobwebs, realm of the spider,
Lustrous in glittering angles,
Silver ray centered, arachnid a glider
Through spectrum of prismatic bangles.

Fields rolling richly, verdant and vital,
Moonbeam within each fresh blade,
Spongy earth yielding, each step a portal
To sensuous feast newly laid.

Stillness is broken, hoardes of frogs greeting
The night, alive with its wealth.
Sorcery present, obligingly meeting
The mind, in moment of stealth.

Creek At Dusk


Dark brown green movement,
Evasive in half-light, shifting crystal,
Moon craters appear. Rock
Patterns are geometrically warped.

Quicksilver moves in dark alleyways,
Sliding serenely over submerged surfaces,
Around moss clumps, daffodil stalks,
Delightfully pestered by skeeters.

I see my soul slipping through time,
There, here, and gone where?
Mercury glides through a dusky world,
Shimmering softly among shadows.

Drifting endlessly onward,
With quiet wisdom or lazy nonchalance,
With muffled murmuring gurgles,
Around daffodil clusters, eases the soul,

Holding running conversations
With local harrumphing residents,
Within a splendidly luminous world,
Glimmering focus in deepening twilight.

Night Messenger

Silent night messenger of hidden mysteries
 Owl flies flawlessly through shadowed worlds,
 Intent amber eyes, focused surveillance,
 Unmindful mankind its imminent curse.

 After collision with thick-wired cabling,
 It fell from its flight to rain-moistened earth,
 But not to past realms, untouched, enabling
 Ancestors to grow, to evolve, to flourish.

 It lay on the ground, legs and wings outstretched,
 With wounds from impact, staring and lifeless.
 It wouldn’t be placed underground, shrouded.
 It belonged to the world, breathtaking, breathless.

 Niche beneath tree trunk, beside gnarled roots,
 It lay undisturbed, at one with its home.
 Gone from this lifetime, yet spirit intact,
 It flew beside me on my journey home.

 Its strength, its courage, its fierce amber eyes,
 Its unswerving flight in parallel worlds,
 Encompassed the air, the ethos, the stars,
 Omnipotent being, it consumed my soul.
