Stage a Killer Production At The
Tallman Hotel
![]() |
The Tallman Hotel in Upper Lake is the scene of the next Murder Us Production presentation of a murder mystery dinner show. This time the script is being written by Florence Peck, a noted local playwright. Her plays have been performed in the North Bay for several years and she is currently teaching workshops on writing for radio productions with local radio station KPFZ. The theme of the next production, slated for October 23rd, is a fictional reenactment of the opening of the Tallman House stage stop, the original name of the Tallman Hotel when it opened in the 1870s. Period attire again is encouraged so if you want to have a memorable dining experience, enjoy some fun and solve a murder mystery, join the party and be a part of Murder Us Productions, go to the Tallman Hotel’s website and learn more about this event. Last year at the first Saturday before Halloween, the Tallman Hotel was the setting for a murder mystery dinner presented by a new theatrical production company born from the vivid imagination of Bert Hutt. He started Murder Us Productions to help local businesses and organizations take advantage of the wealth of talent here in Lake County. The theme for the evening’s dinner was “The Four Deuces”, featuring the entire grounds of the Tallman. The patrons attending the evening were encouraged to come in costumes as they dined on a three course dinner and solve a murder that happened right before their eyes. The full house of 36 patrons, most in wonderful period attire, were introduced to the players and attendees in the Blue Wing Saloon as they enjoyed their pre-dinner drinks. They then walked over to the dining room, where they were able to question the suspects and adjourned to the Riffe Meeting Hall for dessert and the solution to the murder mystery.
Murder Us Productions performed a murder mystery dinner show at the Wildhurst tasting room in Kelseyville this past spring to a full house. This event was catered by Park Place restaurant of Lakeport. The theme of that production was a 1930s western, land grabbing murder complete with a federal marshal, good old boys and family squabbles. There were many patrons in costumes and some people arrived in vintage cars.
