2009 Dancing Around the Lake
SORRY WE'RE LATE THIS MONTH. Guerilla Dance I, spraining my ankle, and a new job to support my dance habit just took the days away and suddenly it's the 16th! There's a lot to say this month too! GUERILLA DANCE I WAS A GREAT SUCCESS and we had a lot of fun. I think almost everyone is excited to do it again! You can see the rough version on our YouTube channel through the link below. We'll be editing together footage from several videos to make the DVD. VIDEO EDITOR NEEDED. We're searching for a volunteer video editor to help with the DVD production. We have footage from three or four cameras that we'd like to edit together into one video with credits and titles for distribution to sponsors, participants, and interested businesses and organizations. If you or someone you know might be able to help us, please email thedancecoop@gmail.com GUERILLA DANCE II & III are already in the works for early and late November. Watch for audition notices and locations in the next week or so. We'll start learning them both in early October. FALL CLASSES BEGAN SEPTEMBER 14. See the schedule at right. We have Belly Dance, Poi, and Ballet classes available and we've teamed up with Sue Stiles from the Lakeport Yoga Center for our pricing so now you can use your class card to take both dance and yoga classes! FIELD TRIP OCTOBER 2-4. For the first weekend in October we're planning a field trip to San Francisco to take classes at Alonzo King's SF Dance Center. We'll be staying at the SF City Center Youth Hostel a few blocks away and hopefully attending a dance performance while we're there. Cost for a bed in dorm room for 4-5 people is $30 per night which includes breakfast and access to a communal kitchen. A 4 class card at the SF Dance Center costs $48 and an 8 class card costs $80.
