Nine Dot Arts Artist Database

Number of Applications Allowed: 5

REQUIREMENTS:

Images: 10 - 20

Nine dot Arts’ artist database is internally used by our team of art consultants. After an extensive visual preference survey is given to our clients we refer to our database to choose the most appropriate art to present.

What are we looking for?
We present work in all styles and mediums including paintings, prints, photography, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, and other art media. We typically place larger works (i.e. 20” x 20” and larger) of art because corporate spaces have very large walls. However, smaller series of works can be used in multiples.

There are three subject matters we rarely work with. They are nudes, strong political tones, and religious iconography. If your work consists solely of any of these please reconsider applying to this call.

Who can apply?
Everyone is welcome to apply. This is a rolling call for entry and will not have a deadline.

Is there a fee?
There is NO fee to submit your work to Nine dot Arts and NO fees if you are accepted.

Terms & Conditions, How to apply,

About this year's theme

Vibrant and vibrate have the same latin root word: "vibrare" meaning to move rapidly and rhythmically to and fro. While vibrate means virtually the same thing in English, vibrant has additional connotations as it applies to brightness of light or color, or as in how liveliness or energetic is the given subject. "Through a Lens: Vibrant!" gives the photographer several options. Vibrant could apply to a light or hue in the composition, or it could apply to the subject, as to a person or in a street. It could even be stretched to apply to the process - check out the vibrance adjustment layer in photoshop. Which definition of "Vibrant!" will you choose?

Itch Issue 10 - Submissions For Creative Journal

Artists working in any medium and writers expressing themselves in any form or genre are invited to submit work for the tenth issue of ITCH Online.

The dictators and the freedom fighters, the princesses and the plain-janes, the CEOs and the cleaners, the surburban yuppies and the shanty-town dwellers, the diamonds and the destitute, the slumlords and the paupers – will the inequalities never end? Does social justice mean equality? What kinds of equalities are possible and desirable? In all things or in some things? Which types of equality should be guaranteed, and how? What are the struggles to make life more equal and what kinds of success can or have they achieved? What would equality look like if it happened? What does inequality look like while it's happening? Is equality true democracy or pure anarchy; a nice ideal or a workable reality-in-the-making? Which promises of equality were the most outrageous and empty: those of capitalism or communism? Even when the two lines are perfectly equal – exact in dimension, shape, weight and colour – isn't there always one on top of the other? Is inequality natural or constructed? What are the narratives and experiences of (in)equality that shape global culture and society (financial meltdown, cold wars) as well as the small moments of everyday life (its your turn to cook supper!)? Measuring portions of cake, those who get to eat it and have it, those who can do neither. Forget the cake, anyone fancy a game of master and servant? The typography of 'not equal to' has a Z embedded in there somewhere (and F and N, too, plus a couple of Ts). Two lines touched by an intersection that says: NO! A railway crossed, a highway bridged: a very simple map. A pair of crosses, an incomplete hashtag (no access to Twitter?), a record of days in a prison cell? A finger across lips: a culture of secrecy, a symbol of censorship (the ultimate show of power exercised)?

What does ≠ mean to you?

You are free to interpret this theme in any way that you wish, to speak to or against it, to explore or ignore it. ITCH welcomes visual, verbal and multimedia work. More details on our submissions page.

Call For Art: Be Part of AE’s Next Postcard Series!

Once again, Against Equality is looking for your sassiest, snarkiest, silliest and most sarcastic designs for our second postcard project.  On our website, we have continued to archive critical writing that encourages others to rethink the rhetoric of equality and inclusion as deployed by the mainstream gay and lesbian organizations and campaigns around gay marriage, hate crimes legislation and military inclusion.

A few selected designs will be printed on 4” x 6” postcards and the images will be added to the AE digital archives.  These postcards will be distributed internationally through our low-cost online store.  Designers whose images are selected will be compensated with a stack of fifty of their own postcards as well as a handful from the rest of the designers!  Submissions should directly address one or more of the themes from our digital archive (italicized above).  All entries must be received by email on March 31, 2012 as 300dpi .pdf files with all colors converted to CMYK.  And don’t forget to leave an 1/8” bleed on all sides!

Fsg & Bomb Magazine Present: The Etgar Keret Design Contest

Announcing a new design contest presented by Farrar, Straus and Giroux and BOMB Magazine in honor of Etgar Keret’s forthcoming book of stories, Suddenly, A Knock on the Door. Here’s the info.

The Something Out of Something Design Contest:
http://www.fsgworkinprogress.com/2011/11/etgar-keret-design-contest/

You may have seen Jakub Szczesny's Keret House, which made headlines well ahead of its 2012 unveiling as the slimmest house in the world. Appropriate for Etgar Keret: most of his short stories could fit on a cocktail napkin. If these stories moved a Polish architect to create a four-foot-wide house, what else might they inspire?

The gauntlet has been thrown. FSG Originals and BOMB Magazine present the Etgar Keret Something Out of Something Design Contest.

Faber & Faber publisher and editor Mitzi Angel writes: "Etgar Keret's short tales have always resisted classification. Are they fables? Are they forays into the Israeli unconscious? How can they be so funny and so devastatingly sad at the same time? Can you even call Suddenly, A Knock on the Door (Spring 2012) a 'story collection'? We thought it would be fun to see what his vivid, shape-shifting narratives might inspire in other people, especially given that Etgar has always been interested in blurring the boundaries between different artistic media."

Read a few of Keret's stories and enter the design contest here: http://somethingoutofsomething.tumblr.com/

Association of Fine Artists is an ambitious digital artwork. It aims to bring together the fine artists of the world in a Guild-like organisation. This is modelled on the Guilds that the artists of the Renaissance used to belong to.
It is completely free to join up and as the success of the piece is directly related to the number of members that sign up, I would ask any fine artists to please take the time to join the association.
In the future the association will represent artists in difficulty and bring help to those in need. That is the future. Right now please be part of this artwork just by signing up.

Call for Submissions for Toad, an online journal of art and writing.  No submission fee–just a chance to be heard, metaphorically speaking.  Take a leap into the deep end of the pond…

Toad comprises any number of species of artists of the creative order, often characterized by their exciting work, thick skin, and wart-like ideas. To maintain its lively form, Toad cultivates bimonthly issues with rotating editors and staff to ensure that the content stays fresh and diverse.
Every other month Toad showcases new poetry, prose, and visual art. As an ever-evolving amphibian, the editors of Toad select artists (“toadists”) from one of three pools: the first is a flourishing man-made pond, supplied with recommendations offered by previous contributors. The second is their sportive, always popular pool of open submissions. Lastly but not leastly, is the puddle-wonderful artistic response forum, which collects creative kickback from readers to establish an art orgy for all to enjoy.

MEDIA:  They want it all: videos, music, collaborative projects, ekphrastic works, genre-crossing/bending art, and of course, all the usual suspects with Verbal Kint included.

    DEADLINE:  Toad accepts submissions year-around.

ENTRY FEE:  There is no entry fee!

SUBMISSIONS:  By email and carrier pigeon only.

We offer artists opportunities for exposure through our events and well trafficked web-site, financial support through our grant program,  and valuable resources to enable you to set and reach your goals – whatever those goals may be.

"I'm a writer and photography fan, and I run a site called Life, Panoramic (lifepanoramic.com). The idea is that, instead of seeing another collection of tourist photos, we get a very subjective view of life around the world from locals - the people who actually live in each place.

    Always accepting images.

"Basically, I'd like to invite you to participate in Life, Panoramic, showing your city from your perspective (not necessarily entirely tied to graffiti, though that can be as large or small of a component as you'd like). We've had a lot of web designers, teachers, moms and marketers participate. Now, I'd love to expand our horizons to show a wider scope. Entries consist of 10-15 photos, accompanied by brief prose. Don't worry if you aren't the best photographer; just be as earnest as possible. Hope to have you there."
